Our Guide will pick you up from your hotel, starting early (7:00am) we drive towards the Mediterranean coastline, to the World War II cemeteries of El Alamein. In 1942 the Allies, under Britain’s Field Marshall Montgomery, halted the German-Italian advance towards the River Nile which was a major victory for the Allies, though not without loss of life, with some 11,000 killed and 60,000 wounded. Proceed to World War II remains and cemeteries. Your first stop will be at the Military Museum including displays of weapons, military garb and tanks. Then we visit the Commonwealth cemetery and recently erected memorials funded by the Australian and New Zealand governments. Through the arches and beyond the gardens, 7,000 white headstones commemorate the Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers who fought and died. Drive to Alexandria, Egypt's only Mediterranean city is characterized by a distinctly European atmosphere and a refreshing sea breeze. where you will see the catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa which are considered one of the wonders of the middle ages ,very beautiful artifacts from Greco Roman time ,It's the largest Roman Cemetery consisting of 3 levels cut into the rock. Then You will see Pompay's Pillar from outside. The huge red granite Pillar of 25 meters height is the biggest memorial column in Egypt. Drive to visit The Roman Amphitheatre which is Located in the heart of Alexandria, Kom el-Dikka is an extensive Roman theatrical and residential complex. It includes the only known Roman amphitheater in Egypt proceed to get a photo stop at (Qaitbay’s Citadel). It was erected on the exact site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, which was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The last Site to be visited in our tour to Alexandria is prettiest and biggest mosque in the city (Abu Al-Abbas Al-Mursi); with a cream colored façade, four great domes, arabesque designs and a high minaret. Now you will move to take your lunch at Mediterranean Sea view restaurant. After finishing the day tour, you will return to hotel.
